Mississippi River Bridges - pics and video

After painting and installing the camel back bridge, I decided to take some video and shoot a couple of pictures.  As you can see, I still need to do the piers and, of course, the main rotating bridges. But, I'm pretty happy with the progress so far.

  1. Daryl,
I love the adaptive reuse of Atlas freight car boxes for bridge piers! Scribe in a little mortar line, add some paint, and they look ready to go!

  2. As a fan of bridges I can honestly say I've been looking forward to this part of your layout build for quite a while. The first sections look great! I can't wait to see how the main section turns out.

  3. I've got real piers I'm going to install, although I must agree the freight car boxes do the trick! The rotating bridge is going to be a hoot to build. No kitbashing this time.
