Geneva Sub Trackplan

I don't really have a trackplan that I can post at this time. I do, however, have a schematic of the layout that I use on RR&Co software for signals and dispatcher use. Hope its helpful in seeing how the Geneva Sub is laid out and how things will be operated.

  1. What signals and signal drivers are you planning to use on the Geneva sub?

  2. Phillip,

I will be using the Digitrax SE8c signal driver. It will take three (I got two so far) to signal the entire layout. Of course I will be reusing the signals from the old layout along with some new ones. I have not yet decided where I will get the new signals from.

  3. Your comments are comin gout black on a black background. Tough to read responses. Maybe just my computer?

  4. Let me know if you're looking for a remote dispatcher.

BTW, black on black is tough to read.

  5. Yes Philip I have the same problem, black on dark gray is really tough to read. Otherwise great blog Daryl!

  6. Forgot to ask: Do you use RR&co for any automated operations? I wouldn't want to have just the computer controlling the trains but that software has intriqued me on the possibility of solo operations with computer controlled "traffic" adding spice and realism to the session.

  7. Hi Daryl,

I noticed on your new plan, the bnsf only has a crossover at the front of the layout. On your prior version of Rochelle there was also a crossover on the "wall" side of the diamonds on the bnsf. Just curious how this will factor into bnsf operations. Also, now that you have a continuous loop on the bnsf, how do you foresee operations on the bnsf portion of the layout?

    Cheers,
    Steve

  8. The Geneva Sub includes the small interchange yard as on the protoype. Since this yard includes a run-a-round, the second crossover, which was not prototypical, is no longer needed.
